My research interests lie in the field of microbiome interactions. I have trained as a biochemist, ecologist, and microbiologist and, therefore, have broad interests in how microbial species interact and persist in highly diverse communities. The questions I ask allow me to combine experimental microbiology with microbiome sequencing to go beyond simply surveying the diversity, and understand functional processes underpinning the community dynamics.
